Living water vs. regular water
Regular water – tap, bottled or filtered – is the water most of us drink and use at home. A water bar or filter gives you clean water in the glass, but depleted water.
"Living water" is an ancient concept: flowing water, like a spring or a stream. Today some also use it to describe "structured water", water whose molecules are arranged in a more ordered way.
What science suggests
Researchers at Stockholm University proposed that water molecules can arrange in two states side by side. Prof. Gerald Pollack of the University of Washington proposed that an ordered, negatively charged layer of water, EZ Water, forms next to surfaces. These are intriguing ideas that are still being studied and are debated in the scientific community.
Spiral movement
In nature water flows in spirals and vortices; at home it runs through straight pipes. There is reason to believe that movement affects water, and there are early indications that still need large-scale scientific validation.
What users tell us
Some users describe softer, better-tasting water and less limescale. These are personal experiences, not research results.
Sophia
Shammaim's Sophia system is installed on the main water line and moves all the water in your home in a spiral through a figure-8 copper pipe. A water bar gives you clean water in the glass, but depleted water. Sophia can replace filters and water bars, or work alongside them.
