Living water in the shower: not just what you drink
Most people invest in a water bar or a kitchen filter to get a clean glass of water. But most of the water at home we meet in the shower, the bath and the sink.
What is known about chlorine in the shower
Tap water in Israel is treated with chlorine to prevent bacteria, and that is important. In a hot shower some of the chlorine evaporates. Some people, especially those with sensitive skin, notice dryness or irritation. Studies have examined exposure to chlorine by-products in the shower (Nieuwenhuijsen et al., American Journal of Epidemiology, 2000).
What Sophia adds
Sophia is installed on the main water line, so the shower, the kids' bath and the sink all get the same water, flowing in a spiral through a copper pipe. In our internal test, the chlorine level dropped after the water passed through the system.
What users tell us
Many users say the shower water feels softer and gentler on skin and hair. These are personal experiences. There is reason to believe the structure of water has an effect, but these are early indications that still need large-scale scientific validation.
In short
A water bar gives you clean water in the glass, but depleted water. Sophia can replace filters and water bars, or work alongside them. And Sophia reaches the whole home, including the shower.
