Why is Sophia System water different from regular tap water?
The water we drink – not what we thought
Although tap water in Israel undergoes a rigorous filtration and monitoring process, it contains chemicals that are intended to prevent contamination, but sometimes also harm health and quality of life. One of the main ones is chlorine – a disinfectant that eliminates bacteria but may be harmful to the body, skin, and hair, especially when used daily in showers and for drinking.
Why is chlorine added to water at all?
Chlorine is an effective disinfectant, used in most municipal water systems around the world to kill pathogenic bacteria. It protects against waterborne diseases, but when it comes into contact with organic materials (such as rust, scale, or metal debris in pipes), chlorine forms compounds called chlorine byproducts , including trihalomethanes (THMs), which are known to be potential carcinogens.
What are the health effects of chlorine?
Inhalation and showering – Chlorine evaporates easily and enters the body through the respiratory system and skin. It may cause irritation, allergies, dryness, and sometimes even damage to the respiratory system.
With prolonged drinking – chronic exposure to chlorine and its byproducts has been linked in studies to an increased risk of heart disease, liver and bladder cancer, and damage to the gut microbiome.
Biochemically – chlorine disrupts the acid-base balance of water, changes its electrical structure, and interferes with the formation of “living water” – water with an organized molecular structure (Structured Water).
Chemical tests – scientific proof of water purity
Who performs the tests?
Chemical water quality tests are performed in laboratories certified by the Ministry of Health, such as the Standards Institute of Israel or licensed private water laboratories . The tests examine parameters such as:
Free and residual chlorine concentration
pH level
Electrical conductivity
Concentration of heavy metals (lead, copper, iron)
Total dissolved solids (TDS) concentration
The test conducted on the Sophia system
As part of an internal experiment we conducted in Shamiya's "Sophia" system, water samples were collected before and after passing through the system.
The test was carried out as follows:
First step: A sample was taken from regular tap water that was directly supplied from the home plumbing.
Step two: The same amount of water was passed through the Sophia system and tested again in a certified laboratory.
Result: A significant decrease in chlorine concentration was observed – sometimes by more than 70% of the original level.
In addition, a decrease in the acidity index (pH) and an increase in the electrical balance were observed, indicating that the water after passing through the system is “living water” – cleaner, softer, and pleasant to drink and to the skin.
The meaning for health and life
Reducing chlorine in water isn't just a matter of taste or smell—it's a matter of cellular health.
Water that has undergone purification and revitalization in the Sophia system
Enables better absorption of essential minerals into the body's cells
Maintains skin and hair balance in the shower, without drying or causing irritation
Improves the body's vitality , sleep quality, and energy
Supporting the health of the microbiome – the body’s internal immune system
Summary
Chemical tests prove that the Sophia system significantly reduces chlorine and improves water quality from both a health and energy perspective.
This water is not just clean – it is alive, charged and balanced, as nature intended it to be.
